"Wo habe ich kommentiert?"- Reverse Trackback

Das E-Business Weblog asks the Lazyweb,

A request for a “reverse trackback” feature. If you comment somewhere else, “reverse ping” to your own blog. If you don’t understand German just follow the first link or ask me to translate for you.

I call it “trackforward” - using homegrown tools, it is pretty simple, after posting I just select the text of the comment in-context, hit “post to trackforward” from the context menu, and an entry with a link to the posting is constructed on the fly. This has three major uses: (1) I can easily “come back” to comment threads, even when no feed-for-comments is provided (2) friends can sub to my trackback feed and find conversations that match common interests (3) a (minor) level of authentication - another bit of evidence that a posting is “really from me”, in the form it shows up in my trackforward log.

If there were *any* standards for comment-posting, this would be easy to automate, but…
